A empresa tinha alvará régio datado de 3 de Outubro e produzia sabões, estearina e óleos vegetais. Em 1898, Alfredo da Silva, accionista da Companhia Aliança Fabril, promove a fusão das duas empresas e surge, em Lisboa, a Companhia União Fabril da qual será administrador gerente.
